Q: WHY ENGLISH?
We want to share the best of the Buenos Aires music/arts/food scene with a wider, possibly not Spanish-speaking audience, both residing within the city and otherwise. There are already a number of great blogs and magazines dedicated to local music and arts coverage in Spanish. Here are a few that we recommend:
Also, the majority of our writers are funnier in English. It’s something we’re working on.
Q: CAN I WRITE FOR YOU?
Possibly? Probably! There are a couple of things you need to know first:
1) We’re currently looking for feature articles on art shows and exhibits, theatre, cinema, and the odd album review or band interview. We’re not really the platform for personal essays about being a foreigner in Buenos Aires (but you should publish it on your blog!).
2) We don’t pay… for now. Our founder/managing editor is paying for this site out of pocket. The other writers are also contributing pieces for free, because they feel like it. But! We are working on changing that. And we’re a lot nicer than the other guys.
Still interested? Terrific. Please send a brief email with a couple of sentences about yourself and what you’d like to cover: email@example.com
Q: I WANT MY PROJECT/ALBUM/SHOW/EXHIBIT/ART/FOOD FEATURED ON YOUR SITE. WHO DO I TALK TO?
Please email us with as much notice as humanly possible and we’ll get back to you. Weekly music or food agenda submissions should be sent by Sunday of the week of your event to be considered. Features such as interviews and album reviews should be inquired about with at least two week’s notice.
IF YOU’D LIKE US TO CHECK OUT YOUR BAND, RESTAURANT, OR OTHER PROJECT, WE GRATEFULLY ACCEPT INVITATIONS. However: we do not guarantee coverage (no hacemos canjes).
At La La Lista we only write about music, food, art and other events that we genuinely enjoy, and as time allows (ie. just because we didn’t write about your project this time, doesn’t mean we won’t plan a future interview/feature/review in the future). We appreciate your understanding.
