Another week, another Setlist! While I’m still trying to get its bones back in one piece after a banging Lollapalooza Argentina festival, we haven’t forgotten about our beloved live music scene right here in our beautiful country. We’ve heard a lot of bands calling our audience “the best in the world” and what better way of proving that than by supporting our local artists who work their butts off to bring some of the freshest tunes for y’all. This week will be no different and we are excited to share some of what we’ve got in store for you. Some old classics, some new artists, and the same upbeat energy that you Wednesdays need. It’s the Setlist, bbs

By the way, don’t forget! We’ve got an events calendar. If you have an event you’d like to promote, just fill out the form here and we’ll have it live on the site within 24 hours. If you’d like to be featured in next week’s Setlist, please submit your event by the Monday previous to your event to be considered.

WEDNESDAY 23

Juan Barrera at Club de La Música

We are kicking off our Setlist this week with an event for those of you who love leaving the comfort of the big city and want to try out new and exciting venues. In this case, we’ve got Juan Barrera, singer, and songwriter that’s been around the music scene beyond CABA. With the release of his latest string of singles, he’ll be playing some of his new songs as well as some songs off his back catalog that’ll surely give everyone someone to talk about for a couple of days.

This will all be going down at Club de la Música in Villa Ballester and tickets will be available through eventbrite through this link

9pm | $300 | Club de la Música | 4449 Juan B Alberdi (Villa Ballester)

FRIDAY 25

Mi Amigo Invencible at Camping

Indie giants Mi Amigo Invencible are celebrating 8 years of Camping BA being active as a venue and they are bringing some of their new songs as well as some old classics. Their unique brand of indie rock meshes elements of rock and experimental looping and synth work that one does not run into very often in the scene. What’s more, Camping is one of those open-air venues that nails it in the sound department so it’ll surely be a celebration of live music!

Make sure to get your tickets as shows like these tend to get sold out very quickly. For more info and tickets make sure to follow this link

9pm| $1500 | Camping BA | Av. del Libertador 999

SATURDAY 26

Hijxs Malones at Cultural Morán

Hijxs Malones is one of those bands that give you just the right amount of accessibility whilst still upping the game in terms of sound and composition. After hearing their single Sol and their latest single Arca Rosa, this became all the more apparent. They fit perfectly into that sweet spot. One of our personal favorite aspects is their approach to arrangements, especially how they make use of the saxophone and sampled loops to marry the world of the analog and digital, all in one neatly packed combo.

They’ll be playing alongside Sato Valiente at Cultural Morán, so make sure to get your butts ready for some shaking at the venue. We’re sure Hijxs Malones will deliver. Get your tix right over here

9pm | anticipadas $600 | Morán| Pedro Morán 2147

Natalía Spiner + Agathe Cipres at Club Social 911

We could simply summarize this show as a proper planazo! These two absolute legends are going to be playing together at Club Social 911’s terraza and let us tell you it’s going to be banging. Natalía Spiner and her very own brand of experimental chamber pop and Agathe Cipres with the absolutely stellar Los Limites (which was one of our favorite albums of 2021) under her belt are sure to bring some of the best that the scene has got to offer in terms of singer-songwriters. If you’re into experimental pop that leans a lot on the atmospheric then you’ll want to save the date.

The date is this Saturday and the place is Club Cultural 911’s terraza. Get your tickets by following this link and we’ll see you all there.

7pm| $700 | Club Social 911 | Dorrego 911

SUNDAY 27

Defensa at El Recoleta

We are going to be quite frank with this one. We didn’t know Defensa until we stumbled upon their upcoming show at El Recoleta and man are we happy to have found them. With a sound that is somewhere between hyper pop and straight-up trap, Defensa sounds like a fresh reinvention of the genre and we are here for it. This duo has been making waves in the undergrounds scene. So much so, they’re going to be performing at El Recoleta, one of the city’s most prominent cultural centers. Best thing? It’s free, lads!

Make sure to catch this dynamic duo this Sunday so you can unwind and chill to some cool pop beats.

8pm| FREE | El Recoleta | Junín 1930
