After our lovely 50th-edition celebration, we’re getting together this Wednesday to embrace each other and to help our dear comrade Fabián Iurino raise funds to replace his stolen equipment. The songwriters we’ll hear from include Muma Casares, Un árbol, Vic Insomnia, Facundo Salas, Erika Lehner, Onironauta proy., Carolina Donati, Fabián Iurino, and Juan Pablo Casares. Jazz en Morán continues into September. The greatest jazz musicians of the local scene will be presenting original music each Thursday. This week Morán welcomes saxaphonist Yamile Burich and her Jazz Ladies, an all-woman quintet composed of Yamile Burich on the sax (obviously), Patricia Grinfeld on the guitar, Diana Arias on the contra bass, Analía Ferronato on drums, and Carolina Cohen banging the congos. Yamile Burich has developed her musical career in Buenos Aires, Havana, London, and New York and with her Jazz Ladies formed the very first all-female jazz group in the history of Argentina.

Malibu was born with a need to explore all the modern and vintage sounds of rock, and this Friday they’re celebrating the release of their debut self-titled album. Mermelada de Morcilla will be opening the show with his special bandita + burbujitas format. That’s “little band and little bubbles” and I’m not quite sure what it means, but surely if you go, then you will know.
