Moveable Feasts is a weekly agenda in which we give the low-down on this week’s food fairs, workshops, and pop-ups in Buenos Aires.
This Saturday is my favorite Argentine holiday. It is the day we give thanks to the people that fill our group chats with relevant memes and uncomfortably inappropriate stickers. It is the time to reflect on the people that support our relatively questionable decisions. To cheers those that (especially for us transplants) make up our family away from home. Friend’s Day is the perfect opportunity to do what friends do best: eat and drink together. And let’s be real, this shouldn’t be limited to just one day a year. So with that, here’s a week’s worth of options.
THURS 18/07
5 Course Mediterranean Feast
4ta Pared always has your back for those Thursday night plans. This week, we’re feeling the salty sea on our faces and a large glass of wine in our hands. Chef Pablo Cerne and sommelier Aníbal Fernández are preparing five dishes to be paired with five perfect wines. There will be tapas, risotto, seafood, pesto, and more. The cost is $1650 per person and everything’s included. Save your place by contacting 11-3666-8510.

Sol Negro Taco Pop-Up at Sheikob’s
Sheikob’s Bagels is the type of place we love here at La La Lista. It’s full of good quality products, killer collaborations (try that Strange beer on tap), and walks that fine line of unpretentious cool. This Friday, Sol Negro Tacos is taking over the kitchen and the space. Along with those scrumptious tacos there will be an acoustic set by Ben Atkins and then DJ Chifle (Mariano Di Benedetto) will be spinning “tropical pagan” beats…which sounds intriguing.

SAT 20/07
Sausages with Friends
On today, the most glorious of holidays, we celebrate our buddies. What better way to share your love for your friends then by devouring mounds of sausages while drinking German beer. Extrawurst is hosting a Friend’s Day celebration with a special menu and some killer happy hour deals. My friend (HI JORGE) is a friend of the guy who owns this place, so through the transitive property you’ll basically become our friend if you go. Plus they’ll give you free shots.
12:00 – 0:00 hrs. | Extrawurst | Solis 1699 | Constitución

If you’re not into sharing sausages with your buds, we understand. Indulge your sweet tooth instead. Every Saturday for the rest of the month this chocolate festival will be held at the Sofitel in Recoleta. There will be a buffet of sweets, with the star of course being the beloved chocolate. While tickets aren’t cheap (ARS $890 for Adults, ARS $490 for kids 6-12), the spread is bound to be delicious. You can make reservations by calling 4819 1129 or heading here.
