Why hello there Valentine. We at La Lista don’t really care much about this frivolous, capitalism-driven pseudo-celebration of love, but we are always down for an excuse to head out for a live show or two.
There’s nothing to break up the week like a little bit of

Synthpop artist Coiffeur will be playing a stripped down set Wednesday night at our favorite Lynchian nightclubs of a venue, La Tangente. Snag a cocktail and maybe a pre-Valentine’s date, and lean against the wall to take in a selection of his songs from his full discography.

The touchy-feely concert series kicks off on Valentine’s Day (how apropro, no?) at El Matienzo. Take your date (or a friend, whatever) to get your ears caressed by the melodic pop of Los Besos & the treacly sweet ditties of El asesino del romance. Plus, Bárbara Salazar will be providing a romantic

Do you write to your mom to ask how she is? Do you download Tinder and then use it like MSN messenger? Well then do we have the show for you. Our usual live music columnist and singer-songwriter Emily And will be performing at this spunky little event, along with Jerónimo Ramasco
Maria Belen Bernat, Ricardo Ache Bozzini (and his pendrive) and Rafael Asioli.

We can’t imagine a more eclectic mix of bands then this one, but that’s what makes it so much fun! Bubblegum goth band Mujercitas Terror, the adorably twee singer-songwriter Penny Peligro, and indie rock band Deportivo Alemán will be teaming up for a

Whenever the independent scene bands (!) together it’s too damn good to resist. Join over six local labels (think Ojarasca, Fuego Amigo Discos, etc.) as they set up booths. With performances by beachy synth-pop Nuk Ronson (Pistolo Records) along with the instrumentalist trifecta of bands: Ventanas (anomalía), the heavy guitar riffs of Los Llanos (X El Cambio Music), and the head swaying Colonia de Vacaciones (SELLO CABELLO) those back corner makeout opportunities are pretty much guaranteed.
9 PM | AR $150 | JJ Circuito Cultural | Jean Jeaures 347
Vintage clothes, an art exhibit, live music, and an open mic until dawn? This is what DREAAAAMS are made of. From old school tango (Nestor Bolomo) to an array of beautiful singer-songwriters, this night offers something for everyone’s taste. Dress in your sweetest Edwardian era find or grab something sweet off those vintage racks.
10 PM | Free | Alma Zen | Dr. Tomás Manuel de Anchorena 660
What happens when musicians from different bands you like come together to form side projects? El Príncipe Idiota. Check out Mi Amigo Invencible‘s Mariana di Cesare and a handle of other independent gems on the scene as they take on the Matienzo stage. Joined by the six person grooves of Guli and DJ Viva this show is bound to brighten up your Sunday.

Our sweet, sweet Nicolás is leaving us (Buenos Aires that is) for the land of Spain. As a parting gift he’ll be playing a send off show with two sets. First a tender solo set followed by a grittier electric one where he’ll be joined by a bassist and drummer. Accompanying him will be the slightly more danceable synthy serenades of Panchito Villa.
