Moveable Feasts is a weekly agenda in which food writer Lola Rubinstein gives us the low-down on what food fairs, pop-ups, closed door restaurants, and other culinary events we should check out in the coming week.
Kevin Vaughn fills his weekly post at Banquito Rojo, where he serves his delicious, Mexican-inspired tacos, enchiladas, and soups. This week’s menu consists of 5 wrestler-inspired dishes: Angel Negro (fried tacos with sausage, potato, black bean, lettuce and chipotle sauce), Flor Metálico (yellow sweet potato, peanut and tamarind spicy sauce, kale and corn taco), Black Warrior (gírgola in tamarind sauce, red sweet onion and coriander over a fried corn tortilla), Gato Negro (osobuco, caramelized onion taco dipped in black beans and cream sauce), Rayo Dorado (pork, red onion, lettuce, cheese and chipotle sauce sandwich), and Huracán Elida as dessert (“churro” budín with sweet cream). Are you ready to get your ramen on? Catch these two classes dedicated to the world of the substantial Japanese soup, and its variants. Marcello Elfonoso will teach you the definition of ramen, it composition (broth, noodles, toppings, ramen types according to the broth (Tonkotsu, Miso, Shoyu, Kare), types of Ramen according to toppings (Negi, Ninniku, Chashu, Men, dry pasta), making knife-cute noodles, and all about the toppings (pork, tomago and tamagoyaki, gari shouga, nori, shiitake mushrooms). The Tigre-based creamery Daniel celebrates 40 years with four hours of free ice cream at all of its locations. Make sure to stop by and sample their must-try flavors: “Alfajor de chocolate,” “Cheesecake de dulce de leche” and “Delicias de la isla” (cream with genoese sauce and pecans).

A roti is a delicious Caribbean wrap, consisting of thing wheat bread made with water and green peas, cooked in a cast iron pan, and then filled with a curry-based stew.
