Welcome to week 2 of “Moveable Feasts!” For our 2nd edition, we have a little bit of everything, from pop-ups at clandestine bars to foodie film screenings to patriotic food fairs.

Visceral visits Anafe

The gastronomic experience Visceral takes Anafe’s kitchen with a four course menu that includes flank steak cooked sous-vide for several hours, crispy chimichurri and small potatoes. Chef Lucas’ cooking is always varied, making good use of seasonal products, often including parts that are usually left aside. Reservations by DM.

MASA Invades Banquito Rojo

Chef Kevin Vaughn fulfills his weekly post at Banquito Rojo, where he serves his delicious, Mexican-inspired tacos, enchiladas, and soups. This week’s menu includes the Rey Gato (chicken soup with pumpkin, onion, beans, avocado and radish), the Oso Negro enfrijolado (chicken taco dipped in black bean sauce), Big Il (tortilla chips with kimchi, fried egg, korean hot sauce, cheese, sour cream, sesame seeds and cilantro), El Intocable (pork carnitas taco with “pico de gallo”, lettuce, pickled corn and yellow aji salsa), Chucho el Roto (cheese stuffed chile taco with mole sauce, sour cream, red onion, cilantro and fried peanuts) and Diva Salvaje (a vegan friendly sweet potato, leek and fennel enchilada with green and red sauce).

Aguante al Maiz bar at La Arepería

After waiting 4 years to get back to the second round of the 2018 World Cup, the Colombian faith is still intact. Lovers of Colombian food and culture will meet to watch the game Colombia vs. England and eat arepas at La Arepería de Buenos Aires. The cost is $400 and includes a cheese-stuffed arepa, two side dishes of your choice, and two pints of craft beer. In addition there will be the opportunity to bet on the results of the match; with the prize of a bottle of aguardiente antioqueño if you win. To lay down your bet you must pay in advance here.

Seasonal fruit and vegetables without agrochemicals, whole-grain bread, tools, seeds, and fertilizers fors for organic vegetable gardens, and more can be found at this natural, organic and sustainable market held every Wednesday in the city. You can also have lunch in the place, there are community tables and a variety of healthy foods and natural drinks.

Cooking Class: De Repente Comida

Kinga’s influences come from her background in Poland and Sweden and her travels around the world. She gives cooking workshops called De Repente Comida from the relaxed environment of her house where she teaches basic cooking methods to unleash your creativity in the kitchen and simple recipes with ingredients that you can buy at the neighborhood market. This Thursday’s class will consist of Polish beet broth (barzscs), hearty pumpkin soup, provencal fish soup without fish (bouilleabaisse) and hearty cabbage, tubers, peanuts and coconut curry. Ezequiel Gallardo cooks at Faraday Bar

The chef of closed-door restaurant Treintasillas is serving a special meal at this secret bar near Alto Palermo mall on Thursday night. Faraday owner Hernan Calliari will be manning the bar and Diego Miola will be DJing; it’s the perfect opportunity to eat like royalty and get to know this tucked away oasis off the busy avenue.

Caminos y Sabores

The 14th edition of the classic La Rural fair begins on  Friday 6/7 and will run the duration of the long weekend until monday 9/7. Since 2005 the fair has brought together food producers, entrepreneurs, municipal and provincial governments, chefs, artisans and national gastronomy companies If you hate crowds, try to go on Friday and avoid “rush hour” (13-15 hrs.).

The 8 Beer Night at Charlone

The brewery and bar Charlone celebrate their 8 unique craft beers with a happy hour until 22hrs, music by DJ Lobo Confianzudo, and a raffle of 8 t-shirts and 8 chopps for those who comment #N8CHe” here. “Coherence” at La Flor de Barracas

Every first Friday of the month,  the antique bar La Flor de Barracashosts a  cinema and ethnography series.This time they will be screening Coherence, by James Ward Byrkit (United States, 2013), which tells the story of a group of friends who meet for dinner the night a comet passes, with unexpected consequences.  The special menu for series attendees cost $250 (dish, drink and dessert). Empanadas, pizzas and picadas will be available as well.

“Feria del Productor al Consumidor” takes place in the beautiful and infrequently visited Agronomía park once a month, in which it celebrates the  principles of sustainable production, alimentary sovereignty, economic and social solidarity, responsible consumption and healthy eating habits.120 exhibitors, including small producers, entrepreneurs, associations and cooperatives will be selling directly to the consumer, allowing you the opportunity to interact directly with the vendor, and taste and purchase a variety of handmade and organic products.

“Viví la Patria” Fair in Caseros

To celebrate Argentina’s Independence Day, the food and restaurant stands of this fair will be serving tradicional and regional dishes from all over the country. You will be able to try  “locro”, “tamales” and “humitas” from the north, but also “revuelto gramajo,” grilled meat, and fish too. For dessert, try the astelitos”, “panqueques con dulce de leche” or “quesillo y dulce.”If you’d rather take something home for later, you can also purchase local products like yerba, cheese, wines and “alfajores.” It is suspended in case of rain.

AmorFar in Feliza

AmorFar is a food fair and gastronomic market curated by foodies with a variety of offerings, including, vegan and non-vegan delicacies, food from all over the world, and variety of textures, aromas and flavors. Additionally there  will be DJsstreet music, and drinks at good prices. Feliza is a cultural center by and for the LGTBIQ+ community.
